EFFECTS OF EXERCISE

WARNING/PRECAUTIONS

Read the entire manual prior to using your UltraFlex ™. Always wearshoes during your exercise session, ideally tennis shoes. Be certain to have a complete medical examination prior to engaging in any exercise program. Consult with your doctor prior to using the UltraFlex ™.

ALWAYS warm up prior to exercise and cool down after exercise. Be certain that you do not hold your breath during exercise.

Body fluids should be maintained. As you exercise you should replace the fluids that your body is sweating away. Spring water is excellent for hydration.

ALWAYS monitor your heart rate while exercising. Do not exceed your Maximal Heart Rate. Maintain your suggested TARGET HEART RATE during exercise. Your conservative target heart rate can be established
with the following formula’s.

1. (220 minus your age) x 60%=Beginner Target Heart Rate
2. (220 minus your age) x 70%=Intermediate Target Heart Rate
3. (220 minus your age) x 80%=Advanced Target Heart Rate

Example: 220 minus 35 = 185 x 70% = 130 (Intermediate Heart Rate)

As with all exercise programs, check with your doctor as to any particular parts of the program or exercises contained within this owner’s/training manual that may be objectionable for your condition. Excessive or improper exercises may cause physical distress or injury. Know your limitations.

Y O U R P R O G R A M

  • Many of the exercises shown may be performed from a seated, standing or prone position.
  • Concentrate on the target muscles that you are exercising to maximize the benefits.
  • Be certain to keep your joints being exercised held in the proper position throughout the range of motion in each exercise. If you allow the joint to move out of position it could lessen the resistance to the muscle.
  • Keep tension on the muscles being exercised during the full set of repetitions.
